Scottish Meme AI ("we", "us") operates https://scottishmemeai.com, a tool that turns one photo of your face into a short AI video of you in our own remake of a classic Scottish meme. This policy explains what we collect and why. Questions: support@scottishmemeai.com.

What we collect

Account data: your email address when you sign in with an email code, or your name, email address and profile picture from Google when you sign in with Google.
Waitlist email: if you joined our early-access waitlist before launch, the email address you entered.
Uploads: the photo of your face and, for memes that take one, the optional second photo of another adult who agreed to be in the video.
Generated videos: the videos made for you, plus task details such as the meme, type and status.
Consent records: the date and wording of the box you tick before every generation, stored with each video.
Credits and purchases: your credit balance, credit history and a record of each purchase (amount, pack, date). Card details are handled entirely by our payment provider; we never see or store card numbers.
Abuse prevention: IP address and a device identifier, used to stop one person from claiming free credits many times and to rate-limit requests.
Usage analytics: aggregated page views and feature use, without your photos or email.

How we use it

To generate, store and deliver your videos.
To run credits, purchases, refunds and support.
To enforce our content rules: no minors, no public figures, no sexual or harassing content, nothing meant to mislead people about what a real person said or did. Uploads and finished videos are checked by automated content-safety systems, and a person reviews flagged videos.
To send service emails you asked for, such as "your video is ready". We also send account holders occasional emails about product updates and offers; every one has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.

Who processes your data

AI generation and moderation providers: your photos are sent to the third-party AI services we contract with to make your video and to run content-safety checks.
Hosting and storage: Cloudflare hosts the site, database and file storage.
Visit statistics: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page visits (page, referring site, country, device type) to show us how people find the site. It uses no cookies and does not identify you.
Site steps: on our own servers we count which steps of making a video each browser reaches (visit, upload, purchase) and where it first came from (referring site or campaign tag), using a random ID stored in your browser. No cookies, no third parties, never used for advertising.
Payments: Stripe processes purchases and stores payment details.
Sign-in: Google, when you choose Sign in with Google. Sign-in codes are emailed through our email providers (Resend, with Cloudflare Email Service as a backup); product update emails go through Resend.

We do not sell personal data.

How long we keep it

Uploaded photos are deleted automatically 7 days after upload.
Generated videos stay in your library until you delete them or delete your account.
A video blocked by our safety check is held: a person reviews it within 60 minutes and either delivers it or refunds the credits. The blocked video is then kept for up to 90 days as a record of that decision, then deleted.
Moderation decisions (pass or block, labels, date) and consent records are kept for up to 2 years as a safety and compliance record.
Abuse-prevention records (IP address range and device identifier used to claim free credits) are kept for up to 90 days.
Purchase records are kept as long as required for accounting and tax purposes.
Waitlist emails are kept until the notification is sent or you ask us to remove them.

Your choices

Delete any generated video from your library at any time.
Delete your account yourself in Settings → Security: your photos, videos and account data are deleted at once. You can also email support@scottishmemeai.com and we complete deletion within 30 days.
To access or correct your data, email support@scottishmemeai.com.
If a video made with Scottish Meme AI shows you without your agreement, email support@scottishmemeai.com and we act within 48 hours.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies, such as the sign-in session cookie. We do not use advertising cookies, and our visit statistics use no cookies.

Children

Scottish Meme AI is not intended for anyone under 18, and photos of anyone under 18 are not allowed.

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page.
