Acceptable Use Policy
What you may not create with Scottish Meme AI, how every upload and video is moderated, what happens when the rules are broken, and how to report content.
Scottish Meme AI turns a photo of a real person into a short video of them in one of our meme remakes. Because those people are real, this policy is strict. It applies to every upload and every generated video. It is part of our Terms of Service.
The one rule behind everything
Only upload a photo of yourself, or of an adult who agreed to be in your video. Before every generation you confirm that the person in each photo is you or an adult who agreed; no minors, no public figures, no sexual or harassing content.
Prohibited content
You may not use Scottish Meme AI to create, or attempt to create, any of the following.
1. Pornography and sexual content (NSFW)
No nudity, sexual acts, sexually suggestive poses or clothing, or sexualised depictions of any person.
2. Violence
No depictions of violence, injury, weapons, blood, gore or threats. Our memes contain none of these.
3. Hate speech and harassment
No content that attacks, demeans or threatens people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other protected characteristic, and no content made to bully, humiliate or harass anyone. The memes are a celebration of Scottish humour, not a way to mock a real person or a group.
4. Child-unsafe content
No photos of anyone under 18, in any context. Photo moderation refuses them, and a final check on the finished video backs it up. Any attempt to create sexual content involving minors is reported to the relevant authorities (including NCMEC) and the account is closed permanently.
5. Impersonation and misleading content
No videos of people who have not agreed to be in them. No public figures, celebrities, politicians, business leaders or influencers, even with a "parody" label. No content meant to make people believe a real person said or did something they didn't, and no content used for fraud, scams, defamation or political messaging.
Scottish Meme AI only makes fixed memes: you cannot upload a video or audio, every video follows one of our own remakes, and there is no text prompt. Videos must not be presented as real footage of a person or an event.
6. Copyright and trademark infringement
No photos taken by someone else that you do not have the right to use, and no artwork, characters or logos you may not use. Do not upload screenshots of other people's videos, including frames from the original meme videos.
How moderation works
Every generation passes automated checks before and after it is made, and a person reviews anything flagged:
- Before generation - input. There is no free-text prompt: the meme, the shots and the instructions to the model are fixed by us, so users cannot steer the model with words. Every uploaded photo is checked by automated image moderation for nudity, minors and other unsafe content before anything is generated.
- After generation, before you see it. The finished video is checked by automated video moderation. A video that fails is held for review: it is not shown to you unless a person finds it was blocked by mistake.
- Labelling. Every video is labelled as AI-generated on the site and in the full video's file metadata. Keep that label when you post it.
- Distribution. Videos are private to your account. Scottish Meme AI has no public gallery or feed and never publishes your videos; you decide where to post them.
When a check blocks a photo, no credits are charged. When the final check blocks a finished video, a person reviews it within 60 minutes and either delivers it (if it was blocked by mistake) or refunds the credits; if no one has reviewed it by then, the credits are refunded automatically. We keep a log of automated decisions and human reviews.
Enforcement
Depending on how serious the violation is, we may:
- block the generation and delete the content;
- remove videos from your library;
- suspend or permanently ban your account;
- forfeit remaining credits on accounts banned for serious or repeated violations (purchased credits on accounts banned for child-safety violations, fraud or deliberate impersonation are not refunded);
- report illegal content to law enforcement.
Appeals
If you think a photo or video was blocked by mistake, email support@scottishmemeai.com with the date and roughly what you uploaded. A person reviews every appeal, usually within 48 hours, and if the block was wrong we restore your credits.
Reporting content
If you see a video made with Scottish Meme AI that breaks this policy or uses your image without permission, email support@scottishmemeai.com with a link or description. This inbox is monitored by a person. We act on reports within 48 hours.
